A number of fundraising events are being planned. All support from you and your friends is greatly appreciated and will us to continue funding our world-leading gene therapy-based research programme headed up by Prof Lako in Newcastle.

Planned Events
The Le Tower 2 Tower Gig: 19th August 2010, Manchester Deaf Institute
- Paul Carruthers and the Le Tower to Tower Team are not only busy preparing for their epic cycle ride from Blackpool Tower to the Eiffel Tower but there is now a fundraising gig beforehand as well! The money raised is to be shared equally between Fanconi Hope and the NSPCC. 3 to 4 bands are lined up including a special guest slot from Steve Pilgrim. Steve is Paul Weller’s drummer (and solo artist in his own right) and has agreed to play!
British Gas Great Open Swim: 21st August 2010, Scotland
- Mark Gillespie is swimming in this event for Fanconi Hope
Le Tower 2 Tower Cycle Ride : Starting 28th August 2010, arriving 7 days later.
- Paul Carruthers, Richard Kawalek and 4 friends will be cycling from Blackpool Tower to the Eiffel Tower. Join them for the big send off from Blackpool Tower on the 28th or the arrival party at the Eiffel Tower! (Exact timing details tbc) It’s going to be a big event!

Charity Boxing Night: 16th October 2010, Belfast, venue tbc.
- Sasha and Mark Gillespie are organising a charity boxing night. Nicky Fullerton, a sports journalist and former morning radio dj will be doing 5, one min rounds with professional boxers. A charity auction will also be held, so if you have anything good to donate please contact us.
Portsmouth Fundraising Evening: 2011
- Kev and Kirsty Hornsey are organising a major evening event with live music at Portsmouth Grammar School.
